About Us

A miracle happened in 2010. Todd and I had a crazy idea that we should move to Costa Rica and have health retreats there. Enough New York winters! I retired after 24 years as an RN. After just a few days after arriving and looking around we found our home. Here we are now, 14 years later…

Lynn, myself, always at heart a spiritual seeker. A few other passions: health, fitness, dance, gardening, grandchildren, a free, just and peaceful world

Todd, a man of many talents- a farmer, fireman, photographer, woodworker, craftsman, natural food store owner, seasoned and intuitive massage therapist. He says he’s retired, at least he tries to be. I keep pulling him back into actionIf you ask, he may give you a massage. He’s still got it.

Working at Body Mind Restoration Retreats (BMRR) each summer for the past 22 years has given me a close look at so many aspects of having a successful retreat, what works and what doesn’t.

People come there to do a “cleanse” and for a lot of other reasons. I do colonics there, a great support to the cleanse. At first I tried to recreate that here in Costa Rica but eventually I discovered some better ways to improve one's health, wellbeing and longevity, as well as to cleanse. As I continue my studies and research, our program here continues to evolve.

We have been having health retreats here since 2012 -small groups, individuals, friends. Lately my passions, along with the retreat program, have been moving in new directions. Change is good!

My acquaintance with psychedelics began a long time ago, back in the 60s. Spent several years of my life in an altered state, a state I loved and preferred to ordinary reality. Motherhood intervened, adult responsibilities took over - jobs, mortgage, all the usual stuff.

Fast forward to 2018, a random conversation with an airbnb guest, “everyone in Europe is microdosing” That intrigued me… I’d like to try it.

Why not, I’m retired.

I didn’t end up microdosing, I just ate the mushrooms. That’s where the second part of the story begins…

We began growing them, sharing them, experimenting and learning 🍄

Although not a scheduled activity, microdosing became one of the high points of our wellness retreat. Out of my excitement to share these amazing and profound experiences, a psilocybin retreat naturally evolved.

My passion and love right now is to give people a safe space to embark on a psilocybin journey. Not to be there as a therapist but as a resource and loving presence. I use this medicine for answers to the big questions in life and the transcendental experience many of us crave and need.

I trust my guests will awaken their own inner therapist or reach into non-ordinary reality for helpers who are there waiting…

My journeys continue to fill me with awe and wonder,  laughter and tears, memories and visions, fear and confusion, insights and amazement.

Likeminded friends have joined our project, and we are excited to have them on board for this year’s retreats.

Diane Kali, is a 30 year practitioner of Ashwanga yoga and massage therapist taught at ourretreat in 2021. She had her first yoga retreat here in 2022 and will be a part of this retreat as well as leading a women's yoga retreat here this winter

Again this year my wonderful helpers, Chelsea and Bri will be supporting staff. So lucky to have them!

Chelsea,  many years assistant to the director at BMRR, now a midwife, yoga teacher, dancer, long time student of meditation (and great cook!)

Bri,  boundless energy and enthusiasm, student of meditation, devourer of books and life!
