Are you ready? How to prepare for a psilocybin retreat.

If you have been intrigued by the recent news and scientific research on psychedelics you might be thinking about attending a psilocybin retreat.

Know yourself.

Psilocybin retreats can happen in different settings. Large group, small group, individual. Do you need more attention or more space? Therapy or freedom to find your own path? In a clinic or in nature? Comfortable in a more upscale or rustic environment?

These things all make a difference!

We are here to help you prepare before and integrate your experience afterward. We hold the space for you and make sure you're comfortable, fed, supported and safe. The setting is private. We provide some inspiration and direction while staying out of the way.

We trust the medicine and we trust you.

Here at CRJR we draw on our own experience over the years working with this medicine. We grow our own mushrooms. We adhere to the principles in the MAPS Manual for Psychedelic guides and the trip sitters course from Psychedelic Support

The days here before and after your journey will give you time to prepare, integrate, relax, reflect and enjoy the beauty of nature at our Center. We’ll have the sauna going, you can go for a swim or a hike or attend a yoga class. We will be getting together as a group to talk, share, explore, ask questions and learn from each other.

There’s a delicate balance between charting your course and letting go.

-First spend time with yourself, ask why you’re drawn to this experience, how you’re hoping it could help you or change you, what you would like to explore, is this the right time? Ask your heart, ask your gut. Eventually you can ask the mushrooms- show me what I most need to know. This is setting your intention.

-Learn about the medicine.

Great explorers of consciousness have paved the way. Check out their books and youtube talks. I am grateful to the wisdom of the departed masters- Terrence Mcenna, Aldous Huxley, Kilindi lyi and the great icons whose books and videos have shown me the way - Paul Stamets, Stanistov Grof, Ralph Metzcer, James Fadiman and my favorite new voice, James Xandar. And so many more.

-Consider set & setting

Set is your life, your mind, your heart. Wait until you feel in a settled place in those areas. Not in the middle of a crisis. Clear your mind. Not necessarily have everything perfectly worked out but it is important not be in the middle of an acute upset.

Setting should be private, quiet, comfortable, safe.

Here you will be part of a small group, 4-5 people, 4-5 staff.

We spend time together before and after to support each other but the actual journey is private, in your own space. We believe that is important for the profound experiences you may encounter on your journey. This allows you the freedom to go through whatever comes up, to laugh, to cry, to dance, to speak -without being concerned about others in the group. One of us will always be nearby if you need support.

-Expect some difficult moments

Remind yourself to breathe, get curious, have a dialogue. Don’t resist, don't struggle, don't fear, believe you will be guided and always remember-you took some mushrooms! You can change the direction of the journey but often it is best to surrender, let go and trust. You can ask the mushrooms to be gentler if you’re not ready. Often, after difficult moments, you’ll find your wings and fly - insights, downloads, revelations, laughter and delight.
